Taylor Swift is this generation’s queen of pop culture and her songs are relatable, memorable and universal as she constantly and skilfully draws inspiration from other iconic masterpieces. In Taylor’s beautiful duet with Lana Del Rey titled “Snow on the Beach”, she references Janet Jackson’s “All For You”. In “Style”, she references “James Dean” (and possibly her ex Harry Styles). Charlotte Bronte’s “Jane Eyre” inspired “Invisible String”, Charles Dickens’ “A Tale of Two Cities” inspired “Getaway Car”, “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll inspired “Wonderland” and “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald inspired “happiness”. Taylor even references Leonard DiCaprio in “The Man” and The Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition” in “All Too Well”.
